For a smoother sauce, gently mash some of the blueberries with the back of a spoon while cooking. If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve an additional 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch in 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir it into the sauce during the last few minutes of cooking. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
