For a tangier flavor, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the mayonnaise. If you don't have time to chill the salad for 24 hours, a minimum of 4 hours will still allow the flavors to meld. Feel free to substitute other types of lettuce, such as romaine or butter lettuce, for the iceberg. To make it healthier, use low-fat mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.
