Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

02

Step

Cook the manicotti pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook manicotti pasta according to package directions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Rinse with warm water and drain thoroughly.

03

Step

Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, beaten eggs, chopped onion, grated Romano cheese, chicken bouillon powder, garlic salt, dried thyme, black pepper, and thawed and drained spinach. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Assemble the manicotti: Gently fill each manicotti shell with the cheese filling. Arrange the filled shells in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. (15 minutes)

05

Step

Sauce and bake: Pour the tomato sauce evenly over the manicotti shells. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown, and the filling is heated through. (25 minutes)

07

Step

Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Ensure the spinach is thoroughly drained to prevent a watery filling.
For a richer flavor, use whole milk ricotta cheese.
Feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for a touch of heat.
Consider adding browned ground beef or Italian sausage to the filling for a heartier dish.
If desired, serve with extra tomato sauce on the side.

I didn't have any Romano cheese, so I used Parmesan instead. It worked perfectly!

Easy to follow recipe and the manicotti turned out great. Will definitely make again!

The filling was a little bland for my taste. Next time, I'll add some extra spices like Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.

I've made this several times now, and it always comes out perfect. I sometimes add a layer of sauce on the bottom of the pan before adding the manicotti.

My kids loved this! A great way to get them to eat their spinach.
