For a smoother margarita, muddle the jalapeño with the agave nectar before adding the other ingredients. Adjust the amount of jalapeño to your preference. For a milder heat, remove the seeds and membranes completely. If you don't have agave nectar, you can substitute simple syrup, but adjust the amount to taste as it is sweeter than agave. Chilling your glasses beforehand will keep your margarita colder for longer. For a smoky twist, try using a reposado tequila instead of blanco.

Sep 8, 2024The agave nectar makes all the difference! So much better than using simple syrup.

Jun 21, 2024I found it a bit too spicy with half a jalapeño. Next time, I'll start with a quarter and add more if needed.
