Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 13x9 inch baking pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, beat the eggs until thick and pale yellow. Gradually beat in the honey and almond extract until well combined. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (7 minutes)

05

Step

Stir in the chopped dates and toasted almonds until evenly distributed throughout the batter. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. (1 minute)

07

Step

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (15 minutes)

08

Step

Let the bars cool in the pan for 2 minutes before cutting into squares or bars. (2 minutes)

09

Step

Allow the bars to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust generously with confectioners' sugar before serving. (30 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use a dark amber honey.
To toast the almonds, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden and fragrant. Let cool before chopping.
Ensure the dates are finely chopped to prevent clumping in the batter.
Store the cooled honey bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
