Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Tear off two large squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place one tilapia fillet on the center of each foil square.

03

Step

Season each fillet with dill weed, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

04

Step

Arrange the cut chives evenly over the seasoned fillets, followed by the butter pats.

05

Step

Fold the aluminum foil around each fillet to create sealed packets, leaving a little room inside for steam to circulate. Ensure the seams are tightly sealed to trap the moisture.

06

Step

Place the foil packets on the preheated grill. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets and the grill's heat.

07

Step

Carefully remove the foil packets from the grill. Allow to rest for a minute before opening, as steam will escape. Serve immediately.

For an extra layer of flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to each fillet before sealing the foil packets.
Feel free to experiment with different herbs, such as thyme, rosemary, or parsley.
If you don't have fresh chives, you can substitute with 1 tablespoon of minced shallots or green onions.
Ensure the foil packets are well-sealed to prevent steam from escaping and drying out the fish.
This recipe can also be adapted for the oven. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes.
Tilapia can be substituted with other white fish fillets, such as cod or snapper.
Serve with a side of grilled vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete and healthy meal.
