Combine and rest: Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then remove the pan from the heat. Gently stir in the cubed stale bread, making sure the bread is evenly moistened. Cover the saucepan and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the flavors.

For a richer flavor, try using vegetable broth instead of bouillon.
Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or carrots.
If you don't have stale bread, you can toast fresh bread cubes in a low oven until they are dried out.
