For a tangier coleslaw, increase the lemon juice or vinegar to your liking.
If you prefer a sweeter coleslaw, add a bit more sugar.
To prevent the coleslaw from becoming too watery, drain any excess liquid that accumulates during refrigeration before serving.
For a variation, add other vegetables such as shredded red cabbage, bell peppers, or celery.
The coleslaw is best when served cold.
