Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a bowl, whisk together the lime juice, yogurt, tandoori masala powder, salt, and pepper. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Transfer the mixture to a resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated in the marinade. Squeeze out any excess air and seal the bag. (3 minutes)

03

Step

Refrigerate the chicken to marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat. (120 minutes)

04

Step

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Remove the chicken from the bag and place it on a plate or baking sheet lined with paper towels. Pat the chicken pieces dry with additional paper towels to ensure a beautiful char on the grill. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Place the chicken on the preheated grill with the lid open for 2 minutes to achieve initial searing.

07

Step

Close the lid and continue grilling for approximately 6 minutes. (8 minutes)

08

Step

Turn the chicken, close the lid, and continue grilling until the chicken is well-browned and the meat is no longer pink in the center, about 6 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh should read 180 degrees F (82 degrees C). (6 minutes)

For an even deeper flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste to the marinade.
If you don't have tandoori masala powder, you can create your own blend using garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, and turmeric.
Serve the Tandoori Chicken with naan bread, rice, and a side of raita for a complete and satisfying meal.
