For a richer flavor, try using buckwheat honey. If you prefer a softer crust, brush the top of the loaf with melted butter immediately after removing it from the bread machine. Store the cooled bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage. Make sure your yeast is fresh. Expired yeast can prevent the bread from rising properly. The amount of water may need to be adjusted slightly depending on the humidity and the type of flour used. If the dough seems too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it forms a smooth ball.

Feb 19, 2022I've tried many whole wheat bread recipes, and this is by far the best. The honey adds a perfect touch of sweetness.
