Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Shake flour in Reynolds® Oven Bag and place in a large roasting pan at least 2 inches deep. Consider spraying the inside of the bag with nonstick cooking spray, especially for larger turkeys, to prevent sticking. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Add chopped celery and quartered onion to the oven bag. Remove the neck and giblets from the turkey. Rinse the turkey thoroughly, pat it dry with paper towels, and brush it with vegetable oil. (10 minutes)

04

Step

In a small bowl, combine the ground thyme, dried basil, dried rosemary, paprika, seasoned salt, dried sage, and ground black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the turkey, rubbing it in gently to ensure it adheres well. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Place the turkey inside the oven bag on top of the vegetables. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Close the oven bag with the provided nylon tie. Cut six 1/2-inch slits in the top of the bag to allow steam to escape. Insert a meat thermometer through a slit in the bag into the thickest part of the inner thigh, ensuring it does not touch the bone. Tuck the ends of the bag into the pan. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Bake according to the following times or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 180 degrees F (82 degrees C). (Varies based on weight)

08

Step

Let the turkey stand in the oven bag for 15 minutes before carving. Cut open the top of the bag. Using two carving forks, insert one into each end of the turkey to lift it carefully from the bag. (2 minutes)

For a richer flavor, consider adding fresh herbs such as rosemary sprigs and thyme to the cavity of the turkey along with the vegetables.
Ensure the turkey is fully thawed before cooking for even roasting.
Baking times vary based on the weight of the turkey. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey reaches a safe internal temperature.
