Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).

02

Step

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set beef aside.

03

Step

Sauté onion and garlic in the same skillet until translucent, about 3 to 5 minutes. Add corn and bell pepper; cook until softened, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in Sloppy Joe sauce, softened cream cheese, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce is heated through, around 5 minutes.

04

Step

Pour the beef mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly. Top with 1 cup of Cheddar cheese. Arrange potato nuggets evenly over the cheese-covered beef mixture. Sprinkle the remaining Cheddar cheese generously over the potato nuggets.

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the potato nuggets are crispy and golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let stand for a few minutes before serving hot.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the Sloppy Joe mixture.
Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack, for a unique twist.
If you prefer a less rich dish, you can reduce the amount of cream cheese.
For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with plant-based ground meat alternative.
