Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the peanut oil in a large stockpot or turkey fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Ensure the fryer is outdoors, in a safe, open area away from any structures. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby. (Approximately 20-30 minutes)

02

Step

Thoroughly thaw the turkey. Remove any excess skin from the neck area, ensuring the neck cavity is open. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Pat the turkey completely dry with paper towels. Season generously inside and out with salt and pepper. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Place the turkey in a drain basket, neck-side down. Slowly and carefully lower the basket into the hot oil, ensuring the turkey is fully submerged. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Maintain a consistent oil temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Fry the turkey for approximately 3 1/2 minutes per pound, totaling about 35 minutes for a 10-pound turkey. (35 minutes)

06

Step

Carefully remove the basket from the oil and allow the turkey to drain. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). Let the turkey rest for 15 minutes before carving. (15 minutes)

Ensure the turkey is completely dry before frying to avoid dangerous splattering.
Always monitor the oil temperature to ensure even cooking.
A smaller turkey (10-12 pounds) is recommended for easier and safer frying.
Use a good quality meat thermometer to ensure the turkey is cooked to a safe internal temperature.
