For an even richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet. For a more intense coffee flavor, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of instant coffee to the frosting. To prevent the cake from sticking, line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper. The frosting can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let it come to room temperature before using.
