Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sukiyaki sauce, water, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Arrange the thinly sliced steak in a shallow baking dish. Pour about half of the soy sauce mixture over the steak, ensuring it's evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. (30 minutes)

03

Step

On a large platter, create a vibrant salad base by layering the red leaf lettuce, thinly sliced onion, radish rounds, cucumber slices, tomato slices, julienned jicama, and sliced hard-cooked eggs in that order. (15 minutes)

04

Step

Heat the peanut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Carefully add the marinated steak strips to the hot oil and cook to your desired level of doneness, about 3 minutes per side for medium-well. (6 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a splash of rice vinegar or a dash of sesame oil to the dressing.
Feel free to substitute the peanut oil with another high-heat oil like canola or grapeseed oil.
If you don't have sukiyaki sauce, you can use a mixture of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar to approximate the flavor.
Experiment with different vegetables in the salad! Bell peppers, shredded carrots, or even avocado would be delicious additions.
