For a richer ube flavor, you can use ube extract in addition to the ube powder. Start with 1 teaspoon and adjust to taste. If you don't have a bread machine, you can knead the dough by hand or with a stand mixer. The dough should be smooth and elastic. For a softer crust, brush the tops of the pandesal with melted butter before baking. These pandesal are best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or microwave for best results.
