Follow The Directions

01

Step

Render the Bacon and Sauté Broccoli: In a large frying pan, cook the diced bacon over medium-high heat until partially cooked but not yet crispy (approx. 6 minutes). Reduce heat to medium, add the broccoli florets, and sauté until they turn a vibrant green and are crisp-tender (3-5 minutes). Transfer the bacon and broccoli to a paper towel-lined bowl to drain excess oil. Discard the paper towel and toss the broccoli mixture with fresh lemon juice.

02

Step

Create the Alfredo Sauce: In a deep saucepan, melt olive oil and butter over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble. Whisk in the flour to form a roux, continuously whisking until it turns a golden brown color (approx. 3 minutes). Gradually whisk in the milk until the sauce is smooth. Reduce the heat to low, add the cream cheese, and whisk until fully incorporated and lump-free. Stir in the chicken broth, increase the heat to medium, and simmer until the sauce thickens (5-7 minutes).

03

Step

Incorporate Cheese and Shrimp: Add 3/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese and the Italian cheese blend to the sauce, stirring until melted and fully incorporated. Stir in the Greek yogurt. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque (3-4 minutes). Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.

04

Step

Combine and Serve: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the broccoli-bacon mixture. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

For a richer flavor, consider using freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer for a longer time to reduce the liquid.
Serve immediately over your choice of zucchini noodles, pasta, or rice. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes adds a delightful kick!
Feel free to substitute other vegetables, such as asparagus or peas, for the broccoli.
