Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Mix together flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Dredge pork chops in the seasoned flour, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and sear until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer the browned pork chops to an 11x17-inch baking dish. (10 minutes)

04

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and water until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the pork chops in the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the French-fried onions over the top. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven until the pork chops are tender and the sauce is bubbling, about 50 minutes. (50 minutes)

06

Step

Remove the foil. Stir in the sour cream until well combined with the sauce. Sprinkle the remaining French-fried onions over the top. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Return the baking dish to the oven and bake, uncovered, until the sauce is heated through and the onions are golden brown, about 10 minutes more. (10 minutes)

For an even richer flavor, try using bone-in pork chops.
If you don't have sour cream, plain Greek yogurt can be substituted.
Freshly sliced mushrooms sautéed and added to the sauce will elevate the dish.
To prevent sticking, ensure the skillet is properly heated before adding the oil and pork chops.
