Follow The Directions

01

Step

Gather all ingredients and have them prepped and ready to go.

02

Step

Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Heat a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until fully cooked and lightly browned. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. (7-10 minutes)

04

Step

While the chicken cooks, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente. (8-10 minutes)

05

Step

In the same skillet, add the Alfredo sauce. Stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, minced onion, fresh basil, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Adjust seasoning to your liking. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. (3-5 minutes)

07

Step

While the sauce simmers, prepare the broccoli. Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring the water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets, cover, and steam until tender-crisp. (2-6 minutes)

08

Step

Add the cooked chicken and steamed broccoli to the Alfredo sauce. Stir gently to combine and heat through. (2 minutes)

09

Step

Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. (2 minutes)

10

Step

Serve immediately, garnished with additional shredded Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of fresh basil, if desired.

Don't overcook the chicken, as it will continue to cook in the sauce.
For a richer sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half.
Feel free to add other vegetables to the dish, such as mushrooms, bell peppers, or spinach.
Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the level of spice.
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese will melt more smoothly and provide a better flavor than pre-shredded cheese.

I'm not a big fan of broccoli, so I substituted it with spinach and it was delicious!

I've made this recipe several times now and it always turns out perfectly. The tips are really helpful, especially the one about grating the Parmesan fresh.

My kids absolutely loved this! I added some cooked bacon bits for extra flavor and it was a huge hit.

  • Dejon Homenick

I found the sauce to be a little too thick, so I added a splash of milk and it thinned it out perfectly.
