Follow The Directions

01

Step

Combine cranberries, sugar, gin, and vanilla extract in a large, sterilized jar with a tight-fitting lid. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Seal the jar tightly and let it stand at room temperature for 6 weeks, shaking gently at least once a week to encourage infusion. (6 weeks)

03

Step

After 6 weeks, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth to remove the solids. Discard the solids or save for another use, such as cranberry bread. (15 minutes)

04

Step

Transfer the strained liqueur to a clean, airtight bottle or jar. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 months to allow the flavors to mellow and meld. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, consider using a high-quality gin with botanical notes.
Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference, tasting after a few weeks of infusion and adding more if needed.
Sterilizing your jar properly is crucial to prevent any unwanted bacteria from affecting the liqueur. Boil the jar and lid in water for 10 minutes, then allow them to air dry completely before using.
Experiment with other flavorings, such as orange zest, cinnamon sticks, or star anise, to create your own unique liqueur blend.
The leftover cranberries can be used in muffins, cakes or even served as a condiment with roast turkey or chicken
