Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Use 1 tablespoon butter to grease a 9x13-inch pan. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Scatter thawed berries and chopped dark chocolate evenly over the bottom of the pan. Set aside. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl until thoroughly combined. Add in eggs, and whisk until mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Mix in 2 tablespoons melted butter, vanilla, and almond extracts. Gradually pour in milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly, until incorporated. Pour batter over berries and chocolate in the prepared pan. (15 minutes)

04

Step

Place pan into the preheated oven and bake until the center is just set and sides are slightly puffed, about 25 minutes. Can be eaten immediately, cooled slightly, or at room temperature, as desired. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar before serving. (25 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of your favorite liqueur, such as Kirsch or Grand Marnier, to the batter.
If you're using frozen berries, make sure to drain them well to prevent the custard from becoming too watery.
Experiment with different types of chocolate to find your perfect combination. Milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or even white chocolate can be used.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra-special treat.
