Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Thoroughly press the tofu slices to remove excess water. This ensures maximum crispness. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Arrange tofu slices in a single layer onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top of each slice with olive oil. Season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the tofu is lightly browned and slightly crispy on the edges, about 8 to 10 minutes.

05

Step

While the tofu bakes, prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the sliced green onion, soy sauce, Sriracha, sesame oil, chile-garlic sauce, sesame seeds, and minced garlic. (3 minutes)

06

Step

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Spoon the prepared sauce evenly over the baked tofu slices.

07

Step

Return the tofu to the oven and continue baking until the sauce is fragrant and warmed through, approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

Pressing the tofu is crucial for achieving a desirable texture. Use a tofu press or wrap the tofu in paper towels and place a heavy object on top for at least 30 minutes.
For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of rice vinegar or a pinch of brown sugar to the sauce.
Garnish with additional sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving for enhanced presentation.
