Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, green onions, lemon juice, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic until well combined and the brown sugar is dissolved. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain into 1/4-inch thick strips. Thread the steak strips onto skewers. Place the skewered steak in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. (15 minutes)

03

Step

Pour the marinade over the skewers, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or preferably overnight, flipping the skewers occasionally to ensure even marination. (3+ hours)

04

Step

Preheat your grill to high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Remove the skewers from the marinade, discarding the used marinade. Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F. (6-8 minutes)

06

Step

Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.

For best results, marinate the steak overnight to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat.
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning.
Serve these skewers with a side of steamed rice, a refreshing salad, or grilled vegetables for a complete and satisfying meal.
