Just before serving, mix in the chopped fresh cilantro and toss again. Garnish with the crushed toasted corn bits for added crunch and flavor. (Final prep: ~2 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try toasting the corn bits yourself in a dry pan until fragrant and golden.
Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your preference. A pinch of cayenne pepper can also be substituted.
The slaw is best served fresh, but it can be prepared a few hours in advance. If preparing ahead, add the cilantro and corn bits just before serving to maintain their freshness and crispness.
