Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine the rinsed and drained Great Northern white beans, crushed tomatoes, undrained green chilies, diced cooked chicken, chicken broth, taco seasoning, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, ground Mexican oregano, ground marjoram, and minced garlic.

02

Step
8 mins

Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. (2 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours, or on High for 4 hours, until the flavors have melded and the chili is fragrant. (8 hours)

04

Step

Before serving, taste and adjust seasonings as needed. You may want to add more cayenne pepper for extra heat or salt to taste. (5 minutes)

For a thicker chili, mash about 1 cup of the cooked beans against the side of the slow cooker before serving.
Garnish with your favorite toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, or avocado slices.
To make this chili vegetarian, substitute the chicken with an equal amount of cooked cannellini beans or diced sweet potatoes.
If you prefer a smoother chili, use an immersion blender to partially blend the soup before serving.

I found it a bit too spicy for my taste, so I reduced the cayenne pepper to 1/2 teaspoon. It was perfect then!
