Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. (Approximately 3-5 minutes)

02

Step
3 mins

Remove from heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal, brown sugar, shredded coconut, and toasted pecans until evenly coated. (Approximately 2-3 minutes)

03

Step
2 mins

Press half of the cereal mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. (Approximately 2 minutes)

04

Step
6 mins

Slice the slightly softened strawberry ice cream and arrange evenly over the cereal base. (Approximately 5-7 minutes)

05

Step
2 mins

Sprinkle the remaining cereal mixture evenly over the ice cream layer, pressing lightly to adhere. (Approximately 2 minutes)

06

Step
1 hrs

Place the baking pan in the freezer and freeze until firm, at least 1 hour, or preferably longer for easier slicing. (Minimum 60 minutes)

07

Step
5 mins

When ready to serve, remove from the freezer and let stand for a few minutes before cutting into squares.

Toast the pecans for a richer, more pronounced flavor. Simply spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant.
Slightly softening the ice cream makes it easier to spread, but avoid letting it melt completely.
For a cleaner cut, dip your knife in warm water between slices.
Feel free to substitute other nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, for the pecans.
If you don't have crispy rice cereal, you can use crushed cornflakes for a similar texture.
