Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large, approximately 40-quart pot, fill halfway with water and bring to a rolling boil. (Approximately 15 minutes)

02

Step

Add the red potatoes, kielbasa sausage, liquid shrimp and crab boil seasoning, and salt to taste. Cook until the potatoes are about halfway cooked through, offering slight resistance when pierced with a fork. (Approximately 15 minutes)

03

Step

Stir in the corn, lemon halves, and diced green chile pepper. Continue to boil until the vegetables are tender. (Approximately 10 minutes)

04

Step

Turn off the heat. Gently mix in the shrimp and cleaned blue crabs. Cover the pot tightly and let it sit, allowing the residual heat to cook the seafood until the shrimp turn pink and the crabmeat is opaque and flaky. (Approximately 10-15 minutes)

05

Step

Carefully remove the vegetables and shellfish from the pot using a slotted spoon or colander, ensuring excess water is drained. Serve immediately, traditionally by spreading the bounty across a newspaper-covered table for a truly communal dining experience.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a head of garlic, halved horizontally, along with the potatoes.
Adjust the amount of chile pepper to your desired level of spice.
Ensure the pot is large enough to accommodate all the ingredients without overcrowding, as this can affect cooking times.
If you prefer a spicier boil, add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to the pot along with the boil seasoning.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking the seafood.
