Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large, shallow dish, whisk together olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Add pork chops, generously brush with the oil mixture, and allow to marinate for 15 minutes.

02

Step

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Sear pork chops until golden brown on one side, approximately 4-5 minutes. Flip and continue cooking until lightly browned and the juices run clear, another 4-5 minutes. Ensure an internal temperature of at least 145°F (63°C) is reached. Transfer pork chops to a serving platter, cover, and keep warm.

03

Step

Reduce heat to medium-low and melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté apple slices until they soften slightly, around 5-10 minutes. Transfer apples to the platter with the pork chops, cover, and keep warm.

04

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together apple juice, heavy cream, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour into the skillet over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens to your liking, approximately 2-3 minutes. Pour the decadent sauce over the pork chops and apples. Serve immediately and enjoy!

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of apple cider vinegar to the cream sauce.
Choose a firm apple variety like Honeycrisp or Fuji for the best texture when cooking.
Ensure pork chops are patted dry before searing to achieve optimal browning.
Adjust the amount of cornstarch for a thicker or thinner sauce consistency.

My pork chops were a little dry. Next time, I'll try brining them first.

I used a Granny Smith apple for a tart contrast to the creamy sauce. It worked perfectly.
