Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray a 12-cup muffin tin generously with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and Italian sausage in your pasta sauce.
Feel free to experiment with different cheeses, such as ricotta or provolone.
These muffins can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Just add a few minutes to the baking time.
To freeze, let the baked muffins cool completely, then wrap individually in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
