Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Ensure the oven temperature does not exceed 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Add flour to a Reynolds® Large Oven Bag. Shake to coat the inside of the bag. Place the bag in a roasting pan at least 2 inches deep. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In the bag, combine carrots, beef broth, shallots, soy sauce, ginger, honey, and garlic. Gently squeeze the bag to blend the ingredients. Add the beef chuck pot roast to the bag. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Close the bag with the tie included in the package. Holding the bag upright, cut six 1/2-inch slits in the top of the bag to allow steam to escape during cooking. Tuck the ends of the bag into the pan. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven, ensuring there is sufficient room for the bag to expand without touching the heating elements, walls, or racks. The bag should not hang over the edge of the pan. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bake for approximately 2 1/2 hours, or until the meat and vegetables are tender and easily pierced with a fork. (150 minutes)

07

Step

Carefully cut open the top of the oven bag, being mindful of the escaping steam. Always support the bag with the pan when opening. (2 minutes)

08

Step

Serve the pot roast, vegetables, and flavorful cooking liquid over hot cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and/or sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal, if desired. (5 minutes)

For a deeper, richer flavor, sear the beef chuck pot roast in a hot skillet before adding it to the oven bag.
Adjust the amount of ginger and garlic to suit your personal preference. A little extra ginger can add a delightful zing to the dish.
If you don't have shallots, you can substitute with a small yellow onion, thinly sliced.
To make the rice even more flavorful, cook it in beef broth instead of water.
Consider adding other vegetables, such as mushrooms, potatoes, or bell peppers, to the oven bag for a heartier meal.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven.
