Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. (5-7 minutes). Drain off any excess grease and transfer the cooked turkey to a bowl.

02

Step

Return the skillet to medium heat. Add olive oil, then add diced onion and cook until softened and translucent (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

03

Step

Pour in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Season with Italian seasoning, dried basil, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

04

Step

Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to combine with the tomato mixture. Cover and cook until the cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally (about 20-25 minutes).

05

Step

Return the cooked ground turkey to the skillet and stir to combine with the cabbage and tomato mixture. Cook until heated through (about 1-2 minutes).

06

Step

Serve hot and enjoy!

For a richer flavor, use ground beef or Italian sausage instead of ground turkey.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper to your desired level of spiciness. A pinch of smoked paprika can also add a nice depth of flavor.
Serve over brown rice, quinoa, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
